Open Studio

Welcome to Suite Comfort, where the ancient craft of upholstery meets modern innovation in the hands of Sharon Hennessy. With over 30 years of experience, Sharon has mastered both traditional and modern upholstery techniques, transforming everything from 300-year-old temple chairs to contemporary regency sofas.

During this open studio, watch as Sharon demonstrates the intricate processes that bring beloved family pieces back to life, from stripping away old materials to carefully rebuilding each layer with precision and care. Discover the difference between traditional techniques using natural, compostable materials and modern methods, and learn how both approaches serve different purposes in furniture restoration.

This is your chance to explore the world of sustainable furniture restoration, where traditional upholstery's use of natural materials aligns perfectly with modern environmental consciousness. Sharon will share insights into her work on vegan suites, sustainable cushions, and wool mattresses, showing how age-old techniques can create innovative solutions for contemporary living.
