Workshop: Sculpting in Thread - Reframing the Mantis Lamp

Reimagine Meseme Studio’s signature Mantis Table Lamp through intuitive hand-stitching on sculptural paper forms.

Join lighting designer & maker Riya Panchal and artist Nicole Chui for a hands-on workshop embroidering miniature paper versions of Meseme’s Mantis Lamp. No experience needed – take home your unique sculptural piece!

Inspired by their collaborative CONCHA Embroidure collection – which translated footballers’ movements into dynamic stitchwork – this session invites you to explore texture, form and personal expression through embroidery.

You’ll gain insight into the designer’s and artist’s creative exchange while crafting your own keepsake artwork (note: this is a sculptural piece without live lighting elements).

This workshop celebrates how craft traditions can be playfully reinterpreted in contemporary design.
