WE ARE WOOD STREET

We Are Wood Street is a local initiative designed to shine a spotlight on the diverse businesses and creative endeavours that shape our neighbourhood. Through a series of photographs, by Wood Street resident and photographer Matt Joy, we invited residents and visitors to discover the stories, services, and people that gives Wood Street its independent spirit. By connecting art, entrepreneurship and creativity, We Are Wood Street inspires us all to shop local, and support independent businesses.

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER, MATT JOY

Matt JOY is a London based fashion, portrait and documentary photographer.

Matt is a London based fashion, portrait and documentary photographer, who lives and works in Wood Street.

Originally from Bradford, West Yorkshire, Matt’s love for photography began at the age of 16 after buying a second-hand SLR camera with the money from his Saturday job. This one time hobby turned to a professional vocation after studying photography at Norwich University of the Arts, followed by 6 years in London assisting some of the industry’s most prominent fashion photographers.

Matt’s passion for photographing people is where it all started, and his style ranges from reportage documentary to fashion editorial and now showcasing Wood Street Business and the people behind them.
