Colour Lab: From Field to Studio part 2 - Immersive Colour Making Workshops

Local colour researcher and trend forecaster Laura Perryman will open the doors to her working studio to the public.

This intimate format allows visitors to get involved in real colour research in action while learning the fascinating stories behind everyday colours that most people take for granted.

The Colour Lab, a special participatory workshop space, features four discovery zones spanning colour's timeline, from prehistoric cave pigments to cutting-edge bio-colours. Visitors can grind ancient pigments using traditional mortar and pestle techniques, discover why certain colour combinations have shaped civilisations, and glimpse sustainable colour innovation, including bacterial pigments and pH-responsive dyes.

Saturday focuses on historical foundations, exploring the stories behind everyday colours most people take for granted.

Slow down, observe, mix and create unique colours and understand more intimately how to work hands-on to create a mindful palette.
